Samer Abujaber attained his medical degree from Ireland, and subsequently joined a research lab at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, investigating unexpected deaths after medical encounters. Samer is currently a medical resident at Mount Auburn Hospital, and his experience and training in a national subsidised healthcare system in Ireland have made him an advocate for health care reform, focussed on strengthening primary care physician-patient relationships. His background as a Jordanian-American, born and raised in Amman, Jordan have exposed him to some of the healthcare challenges faced by patients and providers in low- and middle-income countries.Samer hopes to engage in clinical outcomes research throughout his career, with a view to strengthening healthcare delivery, and eventually translating this initiative to reduce patient morbidity and mortality on a global scale. In his spare time Samerenjoys hiking, biking, playing basketball and volleyball, skiing, spending time with family, friends and dogs.
