Parra Tomkins, MD

One of our newest members, Dr. Parra Tomkins joined FPG in 2021. Dr. Tomkins is originally from the West Coast and completed her medical training at UCLA. She relocated to Boston in 1999 to join the TUSM faculty and practice as a full-scope family doctor in downtown Boston, and in 2001, she became a member of the teaching faculty at the Tufts Family Medicine Residency in Malden. In 2005, she decided to shift her full-time focus back to her patients and moved her practice to Somerville, where she has provided primary care to multiple generations of families for the last 16 years.

Dr. Tomkins is well known for her ability to combine the principles of traditional medicine and evidence-based practice with many complementary and alternative modalities that strengthen the cornerstones of health and wellness. Dr. Tomkins has been honored as a recipient of the 2019 Robert Wesselhoeft, III Teaching Award from the Tufts University School of Medicine, and has been named a Boston Top Doctor from 2019-2021.

In her spare time, Dr. Tomkins loves to create public interactive art, spin poi, meditate, snuggle her new kittens, and spend time with her family.
